Neroli

Neroli oil is extracted from the flowers of Citrus aurantium var. amara (also known as Citrus vulgaris and C. Bigardia) of the Rutaceae family and is also known as orange flower and Neroli bigarade. As with lavender, this essential oil is one of the most popular essential oils, as it not only has great therapeutic properties, but also has the most incredible smell. Neroli Oil Uses and Recipes

For a relaxing massage, combine 3 drops neroli oil and 2 drops jasmine oil in about 4 teaspoons of carrier oil.

Menopause Relaxation Massage Blend

1 ounce (2 tablespoons) almond oil
1 drop neroli
1 drop clary sage essential oil
1 drop spikenard essential oil

Combine the essential oils with the almond oil in a suitable bottle. Massage a small amount of the blend externally over the location of the ovaries and on your mid and lower back.

Skin Care

Mature Skin Cream
Combine 2 drops each of neroli, palmarosa, and spikenard essential oils with one ounce (2 tablespoons) base lotion. Apply to your face as part of your daily Skin care routine.

Neroli Whipped Shea Body Butter

1 cup shea butter
2 tablespoons jojoba oil
20 drops neroli essential oil

Add shea butter to a double boiler over low heat and stir until melted.
Stir in jojoba oil. Remove mixture from heat.
Whip the mixture using a manual or electric mixer.
Stir in the neroli.
Spoon the mixture into clean glass jars and label the jars.

Stress Relief Body Spray

1/2 cup distilled water
6 drops ylang ylang essential oil
4 drops neroli essential oil

Add water to a 4-ounce PET plastic or glass spray bottle.
Drop in essential oils.
Put the cap on bottle and then shake gently to mix.

Calming Inhaler Blend for Children (ages 5 and up)

4 drops neroli
4 drops tangerine essential oil
4 drops mandarin essential oil

Place essential oils on the cotton wick of an Aromatherapy inhaler. Assemble inhaler. To use, remove cap and inhale deeply as needed.
